The poem this week was When Frankenstein Came 

to My Birthday Here are some present  and past tense verbs

 

echoes

today we learnt echoes.

I hear

I hear

When I think of school

I hear

Kids talking and stomping 

Kids shouting when the teacher isn’t in the class.

All of the kids are quieter than a mouse when the teacher is in the room. 

At lunch the kids run and shout like a dog running faster than a tiger, a cat, a fly, an ant. 

But if it is morning tea they walk to their bags and get their food and eat. 

When they are done they run and roar like a tiger.

They pack their bags and go home. 

And there, just outside the top window

As if it had never ceased to be

But only needed listening to 

Keyboards typing, floating free.

Today we played a road safety quiz I got 9 right. 

SLJ Week 1 Activity 1

This morning LS2 worked in groups with our Year 4 students to help them create their first Summer Learning Journey blog posts. PBS are still at school this week so finding some of the materials we needed for our treasure hunt was easy. Our challenge is going to be able to find all the materials we need at home now. The materials I found at school are shoelace, tissue paper, normal bottle, tube, and cardboard I liked the activity because we had to find the stuff that we needed and it took 15 minutes.

Today we did a quiz. I got 6 out of 15 questions one of the questions were what is the capital of a country on which continent. The answer was Africa.

We worked with a LS2 buddy on a SLJ activity. We were asked to re-colour a landmark of famous art work 

I did a really cool painting the top one is my one and the bottom one the original one.

This morning we tried one of this year’s Kick Start Summer Learning Journey activities. The purpose of this task was to experiment with colours by mixing colours from the original palette with pop colours. This allowed us to recolours famous painting or images of landmarks around the world.

2020 Blogging

 

This week we did a number chart for our blog post. In May I didn't do so well but I think the reason why was because we had just started blogging for the year. In June I did very well, I got 11 blog posts and I think the reason why I did so good is because the blog posts where very easy. I have 52 blogs posts for the year, so I am just over halfway to the goal of 100.

This term we are looking at 3 digit numbers. I did expand the number because it is the easiest.

I worked with Azatulah and Aarush to create the DLO on top. Mrs Anderson shared with us the story and we found important words from the text. We chose 20 words and picked 6 important ones from that. We then made a summary with the 6 words.

Light and Sound Experiment

This afternoon Room 5 and LS 1 went to the reserve and did an experiment. We needed to put our hand up when we heard the clapper we made a long line beside the water. Ms Kirkpatrick was at one end. When she clapped the sound travelled down the line people put their hands up in a wave. We saw the before we heard the sound because light travels faster than sound.
